In 1956, Seneca Flight Operations began as a one-man pilot operation with a twin-engine prop plane and a gravel runway in Penn Yan, New York. Created to support the corporate travel needs of Seneca Foods, a small juice company in Dundee, New York, we quickly established a reputation for reliability and service.
Today, Seneca Flight Operations is a recognized charter operator with a modern fleet of Cessna Citation jets and a proud steward of the Penn Yan – Yates County Airport. Backed by the strength and values of Seneca Foods Corporation, we’ve grown into a trusted name in aviation.

Seneca Flight Operations isn’t just an aviation company; we’re a trusted partner in maintaining and managing the Penn Yan – Yates County Airport. Under an agreement with Yates County, we:
- Manage all facilities, structures, and equipment
- Provide year-round maintenance, from snow removal in winter to grass mowing in the summer.
- Serve as a welcoming hub for pilots, charter customers, and visitors of the region.
Through these efforts, we connect the Finger Lakes to the world and ensure the airport remains a resource for the entire community.
